“Sand On Our Boots” was inspired by Captain Matt’s favorite Texas beach, a place that became so meaningful to him that he eventually adopted it through the Texas General Land Office’s Adopt-A-Beach program and committed to helping protect it. The song celebrates everything he loves about days on the Texas coast: family, friends, fishing, bonfires, cold drinks, music, and making memories with sand on your boots. Produced by award-winning producer and engineer Chad Mauldin.
Lyrics
At the end of the Brazos
Where it makes love to the sea
There is a place we get away
So hop on in and ride with me
We might get a little mud on the tires
But it’s worth the trip
When that ocean breeze kisses my face
Followed up with your lips
With a little sand on our boots
Shiner Bock in the cooler
Let’s head out to where
All our friends go
Low tides and summer highs,
Guitar tunes and starry skies.
At the sandbar, is where our memories grow.
Rednecks in their 4x4s
Turning donuts in the sand
Hopeful anglers trying to make that catch
While all the kids are playing around
We may not have bluest ocean
Or sand white as snow
But what we have we thank God for
Never ask for more
Then a little sand on our boots
Shiner Bock in the cooler
Let’s head out to where
All our friends go
Low tides and summer highs,
Guitar tunes and starry skies.
At the sandbar, is where our memories grow.
When that sun goes down under the dunes
And the chill hits the air
We gather driftwood to make a fire
And snuggle up without a care
And a little sand on our boots
Shiner Bock in the cooler
Let’s head out to where
All our friends go
Low tides and summer highs,
Guitar tunes and starry skies.
At the sandbar, is where our memories grow.
Low tides and summer highs,
Guitar tunes and starry skies.
At the sandbar, is where our memories grow.
