About Captain Matt
Captain Matt is a Gulf Coast Country singer-songwriter, founder, and community builder whose music and mission are rooted in faith, family, freedom, and fun. Drawing inspiration from life along the Texas Gulf Coast, his sound blends country storytelling with coastal grit and a laid-back waterfront spirit.
His debut album, The Beginning, resonated strongly with listeners, climbing to #15 on the iTunes Country Charts—a milestone that confirmed both the growing audience for his music and the broader appeal of Gulf Coast Country.
More than an artist, Captain Matt is the founder of Boat House Music Group, an artist-development co-op created to support independent musicians through collaboration, shared resources, and authentic live experiences—without sacrificing ownership or creative control. He is also the creator and host of the Boat House Sessions Podcast, a monthly live performance and conversation series filmed in front of a live audience from the home marina of Creola in Freeport, Texas.
At the heart of everything Captain Matt does is a belief that music is meant to bring people together. What started as one songwriter’s journey has grown into a grassroots music movement—built around community instead of competition, and designed to help Gulf Coast Country artists grow together while staying true to who they are.
