MORE THAN A BEACH CLEANUP. THE BEGINNING OF A TRADITION
What started as the adoption of approximately two miles of Texas coastline has become something much bigger.
Through the Texas General Land Office's Adopt-A-Beach Program, Captain Matt & The Boatcrew have officially adopted a section of Bryan Beach at the end of FM 1495 in Freeport, Texas. We call it #BoatcrewBeach—not because we own it, but because we've accepted the responsibility of helping care for it.
Our mission is simple.
Leave every place better than we found it.
That means cleaning beaches, bringing families together, supporting local businesses, showcasing talented musicians, and building a community that believes music can inspire people to make a difference.
September 19, 2026 is the beginning of that vision.
Each year, on the weekend closest to Captain Matt's birthday, the #BoatcrewFamily will gather at #Boatcrew Beach to celebrate International Coastal Cleanup Day with a day of service, live music, family activities, and unforgettable memories.
Our goal is for this annual celebration to grow into the Boat House Music Festival—a destination event where thousands of people come together for one purpose:
To prove that music has the power to unite communities and leave the world better than we found it.

🌎 Why September 19 Matters
Our main #BOATCREW Beach Day is set for September 19 — International Coastal Cleanup Day.
On this day, people all over the world come together to clean beaches and waterways as part of one of the largest volunteer efforts on the planet.
By choosing this date, #BOATCREW Beach becomes part of that global movement — bringing the Gulf Coast community together to do our part in something bigger than ourselves.In return, The Boatcrew band and I will be recording a music video for “Sand On Our Boots” and put on an intimate concert right on the beach for everyone.
