MORE THAN A BEACH CLEANUP. THE BEGINNING OF A TRADITION
What started as the adoption of approximately two miles of Texas coastline has become something much bigger.
Through the Texas General Land Office's Adopt-A-Beach Program, Captain Matt and The Boatcrew have officially adopted a section of Bryan Beach at the end of FM 1495 in Freeport, Texas. We call it #BoatcrewBeach—not because we own it, but because we've accepted the responsibility of helping care for it.
Our mission is simple.
Leave every place better than we found it.
That means cleaning beaches, bringing families together, supporting local businesses, showcasing talented musicians, and building a community that believes music can inspire people to make a difference.
September 19, 2026 is the beginning of that vision.
Each year, on the weekend closest to Captain Matt's birthday, the #BoatcrewFamily will gather at #BoatcrewBeach to celebrate International Coastal Cleanup Day with a day of service, live music, family activities, and unforgettable memories.
Our goal is for this annual celebration to grow into the Boat House Music Festival—a destination event where thousands of people come together for one purpose:
To prove that music has the power to unite communities and leave the world better than we found it.
🤝 2026 EVENT SCHEDULE
Check-in at Quintana Beach County Park Check-in, 330 5th street Quintana, TX 77541 starting as early as 8:30am. Where you can bring your waiver (click here). You will be given specific netted bags to help let the sand sift through the bag.
Official #BoatcrewBeach Cleanup starts at 10am and goes till Noon. Click #BoatcrewBeach to see what part we adopted.
Throughout the day Captain Matt and The Boatcrew will be driving the beach to meet everyone, provide water, and provide any assistance.
There will also be a driftwood engineering contest where teams can form to build gathering/sitting areas for families beyond the clean-up day. Top 3 best builds will receive awards. To see rules: CLICK HERE. Perfect for:
